Discover the beauty of the Chianti countryside through plein air gouache and oil painting. See the landscape through an artist’s lens.

We’ll respond to color, light, texture and the quiet beauty that surrounds us. All painting supplies provided. All levels welcome.

The workshop begins in Florence and we travel together as a group to the beautiful winery villa estate La Torre alle Tolfe, just outside of Siena. We will meet at Piazza Tasso, a 10-minute walk from Ponte Vecchio.

Fotini will guide and inspire you with an introduction and demo with gouache and oil painting and direction with how to get started. She’ll give you step-by-step instruction and personalized feedback to carry you through the day.

Enjoy a delicious lunch prepared by Ristorante La Torre alle Tolfe of fresh Italian food from local producers. We’ll also have a mid-day break with coffee/tea and light snacks.

In the end you’ll have two paintings, a gouache painting on paper and an oil painting on panel. Personal souvenirs to take home with you and to cherish your experience.

We’ll finish the painting day with connection and insight by sharing reflections of your experience and the work of fellow artists. Transportation back to Florence provided.
